Hi all,
This saturady we will be having our normal meeting, we will be focusing on our footdrill as Founder's day is approaching. We will still have a test taking session after the foot drill. Please co-operate well if you wish to go home even earlier. Those who are unable to come please sumbit a medication certificate or a parent's letter latest by the upcoming tuesday to either Miss Nardiah, Miss Sim, Xian Jun or me. Those who do not hands up either of the excuse letter, you will be counted as absent without valid reason.

This saturday we will be having our normal meetings and i will be expecting all of you guys to come basically its because the sec 1s are coming. Those who are late will be punished severely. Please make sure your uniform are properly iron and also sew up your badges. Please put on your best behavior as we are the role model of the sec 1s. Also if you have any badges that have not been given to you, please inform me tomorrow. First of all, a happy 2010 to all the scouts out there, CCA will resume this saturday and there will be a meeting. This saturday we will have to build a 2-1 flag pole by 0800hr. I am expecting full attendance, please do not dissapoint me in the first meeting of this year. Those who are late will be punished severely. - Preventive measures that are taken to minimise the chances of accidents happening.
- Must always apply the precautions before, during and after each activity.
Main types of precautions to be taken note of
- Weather
eg Thunderstorm, Hot weather( Drink more water), SandStorm( of course not in singapore), Tides
Always check the weather forecast before any activities
Check the tides, waves or the height of the water before proceeding esp swimming in open sea.
- Health
Always check the conditions like injuries of the participants before, during and after the activities or at different interval
- Skill Competence
Always check if the participant knows how to do the activtiy or task given , eg swimming, kayaking, doing anchoring for rock climbing, cycling( not allowed in Dunearn :P)
eg Pair a non swimmer to a someone who knows life saving.
eg Know the country code and highway code when on hike
eg knows what to do if there is a bee attack.
- Equipment
Always check for any faults in the equipment and sound out. Make sure there is safety equipment like First Aid Kit, Float, Life Jacket.
- Food and water
Always ensure enough food and drinking water for all participants.
Lastly, always put the life and safety of each participant in the first place. Do not take unnecessary risks that will endanger anyone who is in the activities.
